Chinese National Institute of Metrology based on existing international standards, testing from 2 aspects of blue light hazard and heat damage in the retina. They surveyed a P1.67mm pitch LED panel's photobiological safety and choose a (PDP)plasma TV and LCD TV prototype as a comparison.

Test results indicate that, under the same condition of brightness and white field, in the blue band, although LED panel peak brightness is higher than the rest of two TVs, it's narrow wave after weighted integral makes the retinal damage index lower than the others. Three different display measurement of retinal biological safety data were not significant differences. Three samples, LED display measurement results are even better than the other two screens.

 

Note that any long-time watching on the screen might cause permanent damage to human eyes, so no matter what kinds of displays, operating personnel should pay attention to eye health, strike a proper balance between work and rest, consciously and proactively protect their eyesight.
